Tamales are a Mexican Christmas Eve tradition. My family makes our
Tamales after Thanksgiving because making the tamales is such a long
complicated process. During our tamale making parties everyone has their
own job to do. One person is in charge of making the meat and putting
the meat into the tamale. One person is in charge of making the masa.
The next person is in charge of pressing the tamales. Lastly, is the
person who wraps the tamales and places a bow on them so they stay
together and then packages the dozens up to be frozen until Christmas
Eve when we eat the tamales. My family has created many memories during
these tamale parties. Those memories are the reason why Tamales are so
special to me!
